To get the best results from the 3D scanning feature, please consider the following tips:
Lighting conditions:
Ensure the room is well-lit for accurate scanning. Dark corners can negatively affect the results. Also, avoid direct backlighting, as it can interfere with the scanner.
Slow movements:
Move the iPad slowly and steadily through the room. Quick or jerky movements may result in inaccurate measurements.
Complete coverage:
Make sure to scan every area of the room at least once, especially corners and niches. Ceilings and floors are often overlooked, so pay special attention to those.
Avoid reflections:
Mirrors, glass surfaces, or shiny materials can impair scan quality. If possible, cover them or adjust your position to minimize reflections.
Software updates:
Keep your operating system up to date. Updates can improve the app’s accuracy and performance.
Data review:
After completing the scan, carefully review the digital model. Look for any inaccuracies or missing areas and rescan if necessary.
Small rooms:
In very small rooms, such as compact bathrooms, it can be difficult to maintain enough distance from walls. In such cases, manual measurements might be the better option.
Sloped ceilings:
Sloped ceilings can be tricky due to unusual angles. Try to position the device so that the entire slope is captured. Alternatively, you can manually adjust the values after the scan or perform a new scan.
Maintain proper distance:
Keep a moderate distance (approx. 2 meters if possible) from the surfaces being scanned. Too close can lead to inaccuracies, while too far may result in missing details.
Stable internet connection:
A stable internet connection is necessary for the app to sync your project data to the cloud. Without it, scans might not be properly uploaded.
