Besides roofs, you can also place panels on facades, fences and carports in autarc. Their panels count towards output, yield and the proposal just like all others.
You find all three under Add in the Site section. They are not available with perspective photos.
Facades, fences and carports you create appear in the sidebar under Surfaces. Click one to select it and see its details.
Facades
How you create a facade depends on the planning background:
3D model: Click each corner of the facade and close the shape at the starting point. In
Rectangularmode, click the two bottom corners and then the top edge.Map providers and 3D terrain: Draw the roof first and enter its height and pitch. Then choose
Add>Walland useSelect facadeto click a side of the roof. The wall below it becomes a facade.
Use Flip facing to set which way the facade faces. If there are already panels on the facade, remove them first. If you change the roof afterwards, autarc shows This facade no longer matches its roof.
Fences
Click each corner of the fence. Press Finish or Enter to keep the fence, or Esc to discard it. In the details, set the Fence height (up to 10 m).
On a slope, e.g. on 3D terrain or a 3D model, the panels follow the incline of the fence. Fences cast shadows in the shading analysis.
Carports
Draw a carport freely or as Rectangular (three corners). In the details, set:

Placing panels
Click Add > Panels and select a panel. All placement modes also work on facades, fences and carports, including Area. To learn how to place panels and set up the grid, see PV planning.
Frequently asked questions
Are panels on facades and fences included in the yield?
Yes. autarc calculates the yield from the orientation and tilt of each surface, including vertical facades and fences. To learn more, see How is the PV yield calculated?
Why can't I select a facade?
On map providers, a facade is created from the wall below a roof. So draw a roof first and enter its height and pitch. Then select a wall under Add > Wall. Facades are not available with perspective photos.
