LiDAR scanners work by emitting laser light and measuring the time it takes for the light to reflect off objects and return to the scanner. This measurement, known as Time of Flight (ToF), allows the system to accurately calculate distances, shapes, and dimensions of objects.

Modern LiDAR systems use this technology to generate detailed 3D maps of their surroundings and can cover a wide range of distances.
