A supply air room is a space into which fresh air is introduced — either mechanically via a ventilation system or naturally through open windows or dedicated ventilation openings. The goal is to improve air quality and ensure adequate fresh air supply.
Living rooms and bedrooms are typically classified as supply air rooms, while kitchens and bathrooms are considered exhaust air rooms. In exhaust air rooms, stale or humid air is extracted or displaced by the airflow coming from supply rooms. This helps remove moisture, odors, and pollutants while maintaining good air quality in adjacent areas.
Room Type & Air Exchange Rate Settings
Room Type | Air Exchange Rate |
Supply air room |
|
– Standard usage, airtight windows | 0.8 /h |
– Standard usage, moderately airtight windows | 0.6 /h |
– Standard usage, leaky windows | 0.5 /h |
Exhaust air room | 0.4 /h |
These values represent minimum air exchange rates to ensure sufficient ventilation and effective removal of moisture and odours.
